Before going into Business, this is what you need to know

As a child of the most high, there are a few things that you must know before going into Business.

  1. Though you are in this world, you are not of this world. John 15:19 | God is going to lead you to operate business completely different from what you are used to seeing in the world. Also, do not expect your success to look like or sound like the success of the children of the world. You belong to a King named, Jesus and he goes exceedingly and abundantly for his his children.
  2. God is the Kings of Kings. Your power comes from him, your knowledge comes from him, your wisdom comes from him and your steps are ordered by him and him only. Just like the story of Moses before he went to Egypt on assignment, God checked him exactly where he was to tell him that God is his overseer. This is why we see Moses go back to God in prayer every time he was rejected by Pharaoh.

Be able to go to God in prayer seeking for answers when a business deal does not go according to plan.

Just like Moses be able to be resilient and stand on Gods word when everytthing seems contrary.

Be able to beleive God and be just no matter how far you get in Business.

Understand that no door can be open, without the blessing of your heavenly father.

Go into business accepting that you walk with the Kings of Kings, that you will face failure and many obstacles along the way. Also keeping in mind that Gods word does return back to him void and you will SUCCEED in whatever you do with him!!

How To Brand Your Business

Whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur, blogger, podcast host, photographer or a youtuber; branding plays an important role in your company. In this podcast episode I walk you through the first few steps.

Here are a few tips to help you get started:

  1. Map out your Mission
    • Without a proper map it is impossible to get to your destination. First thing is first, you must know where you are going. Take your time to work on this, as this is an important step in your business. Skipping this step will leave you wandering away from your target goal. Save some time and money and check this off of your list.
  2. Know your who
    • You can have the best message and yet project it to the wrong group of people. It is important to know your ideal customer/audience. Skipping this step, will leave you completely lost. Who is it that you are talking to? What are some things that they are into? What do they love to do? What do they dislike? Where do they spend their money? What do they need?
  3. Craft your message
    • This is personally my favorite part. Once you figure out who you are talking to, then you will need to create a message board that pertains to what are you saying to your audience. What is their language? What are they looking to feel?

If you are looking to learn more, tune into this podcast episode. There is a special offer at the end to help you get started on branding your business today!

How to Beat Procrastination

It’s 9 p.m. and the idea of an essay of 10 paragraphs that was assigned two months ago pops back into your head. . . and it’s due tonight. Admit it, we’ve all been there. We’ve all had those moments where we sit in front of our laptop or notebook, and decide to postpone our project for a “better time.” We go into the mind of a mad scientist, were the only thought on our mind is to complete our project.

No distractions.

No more procrastination..

But why didn’t we do this weeks before the due date? Here are some ways to beat the temptations to procrastinate!

1. Plan Ahead

Yes, it’s time to sit down and actually create a plan of what you’re going to do and how you’re going to do it. A lot of people use time management as an excuse for procrastination, but there are no excuses once you’ve disciplined your mind to work towards something. (Woah, that’s powerful!)

2. How are you going to manage your time?

Personally, a planner is an excellent way of organizing my schedule and how to work around it. Also, once something is assigned, I would place it somewhere noticeable, such as a mirror or a wall in my bedroom, so that it’s constantly nagging me to get it done already.

Another way is Google, which has multiple applications such as the calendar. In my everyday life I schedule everything on my calendar because it makes things much easier to know what I am doing in the day, week or even month. It is very helpful with juggling multiple things at once. In addition you can use reminders on your iphone or even your alarms, set a time for ahead just in case anything happens, it is better to be safe than sorry.

3. Make an Outline

Write down what you know so far. Do your research make sure you know the topic before writing it. This makes it easier to write and have a flow pattern.

4. Block all Social Media

Social Media is often the culprit of drawing attention away from a project. It’s a distraction that was planted in everyday items, probably the device which you are using to complete your assignment. Once a notification pops, we all think we have the self-control to simply clear it, but a better alternative is to stop the notification from popping up in the first place.

You can create time blocks to place your phone in a different room, perhaps an hour or two, however long it will take to get the task done. This helps narrow your focus and aim it solely towards your project.

5. Self-Care

Although you  might consistently be busy with an overload of tasks and assignments, it is important to have some “me-time,” to clear your mind of worry. Currently in Proverbs, the book I’m studying this month, says, “Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” Honestly, no one could have said it better. Taking a break and putting yourself first is a priority and it is beneficial in creating a clean slate and building up from there.

I hope that this was helpful to you as it is for me. Because procrastination is something that I struggle with from time to time. If I can be honest!

How do you overcome procrastination?
