Okay you guys I am really spilling the tea here. I am letting you know some of my tops grocery shopping secrets here in The Bronx.
With only 2 locations here in The Bronx, ALDI has so much to offer! ALDI is a German company that has successfully made its way into the United States. I love shopping for groceries here. One reason beyond all, I can buy organic fruits and veggies for a good price. Above all, it is a global discounted supermarket.
My Grocery List
Multi grain Bread
Broccoli (3 heads)
Sweet Potatoes (About 10 in a bag)
Old Fashion Oats
Brussels Sprouts (A bag of small Brussels sprouts)
Oven Roasted Almonds
Gala Apples (5)
I purchased 15 items that will last me for a whole month and I spent less than $40! Mathematically speaking, if I spend this month every month for a whole year, less than $500 will be going towards my groceries. Sounds almost unbelievable, when Americans usually spend $150 a week on groceries. Insane! You can eat better and save so much here at ALDI.
Two locations here in The Bronx, pick one and start saving.
Although Barcelona has my heart, I fell in love with Castelldefels. There are less people around, authentic food and its reasonably priced compared to Barcelona. This town is famous for its long beach and it is only an hour away from Barcelona. Most people go to Barcelona because its obviously more popular, but face more crows, less authentic food and high prices. If you are looking to stay near a beach with less traffic, go for Castelldefels. The beach has a long boardwalk, that you can enjoy anytime of the day. It also has a number of restaurants on the beach, where you can enjoy the view followed by a few glasses of wine.
TRAVEL TIP: Whenever you are traveling, my biggest advice is to eat a nutritional breakfast before beginning your tour. You may ask why? Well, realistically tours and sightseeing require a ton of walking. Which means that you need a lot of energy, so that you can keep up. I learned this from experience, do not skip any meals when you are traveling.
Salta Violeta, located right by the beach in Castelldefels
Fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee
Ham and cheese croissant
La Sagrada Familia
One thing that I highly recommend, is to stop by at Mercado de La Boqueria. In the market there are tons of food vendors that offer high quality food, such as natural juice, fruits, cheese, ice cream, seafood, meat, cheese, oil, nuts and plenty of sweets. As you walk in you will be welcomed by a delicious smell in the air of food and the bright colors all over the market. Everything in the market is cheap, you can get a big bang out of your buck. Which is why I enjoy it so much!
These are my absolute favorite! I usually go for coconut, yum!
Time waits for no one! Being that it is April already, this quote proves itself to be completely true. Phew, time is just flying by.
Although we are a couple days into this month, I thought I’d share my goals with you guys. Besides me being a neat freak and a huge planner, it is extremely important for me to have a productive year as a newbie in the blogging community. In order to have a great year, it is crucial to take one step at a time by taking each month at a time. Checking off each accomplishment as time goes, one by one.
Without further ado, here are my goals for April:
Finish reading “Tired of being tired by Jesse Lynn Hanley”
Okay, so I believe the universe drew me to this book because I was looking for a cookbook online and I found this instead. This book is exactly what I need to read right now, in order to reshape my plan for a healthier lifestyle. In just ten simple solutions, Jesse dissects each step and teaches you everything you need to know. This book influences most of my goals for this month. Has any read or heard of this book??
Walk at least 10,000 steps (5 miles) four times each week
I consider myself to be active for the most part, I love a good workout. However, I have been out of the gym for a couple months so I thought I start with something very simple and then work my way up. Otherwise, if I go back to my usual workout my body wont be able to keep up and I will most likely give up. Which is why I am taking one step at a time, literally!

For a healthy body, we must fuel our bodies with natural whole foods. Meaning that we must eat fruits and vegetables everyday. Eating fruits is not a problem for me as much as eating vegetables. If I can actually enjoy eating vegetables, then I more likely to eat them frequently. This month I am going to get in the kitchen and try new recipes, so that I can enjoy my veggies. Any recipe recommendations?? Please let me know
Spring clean my room
After reading Three Minimalist Lessons in My Thirties, from one of my favorite bloggers. I was inspired to clear my room and get rid of things that I do not use or need. I find myself holding on to things, just because its mine. I am talking about makeup, clothes, and shoes!! Oh my, I have so much things.
Publish a new post, at least 4 times a week
So far this is m 4th month as a blogger, woohoo!! Although I feel like I have been doing a great job thus far, I want to challenge myself to post at least four times a week for the rest of the month. How was your first couple months as a blogger? Do tell, I feel like I am alone and a bit puzzled sometimes!
I plan to accomplish my goals by planning out each week every Sunday. Making sure that I incorporate each goal within my weekly plan. I feel pretty good about this month.
As you guys know, my boyfriend & I took a trip to Europe for a whole month. Amsterdam is by far our favorite city, ever!! For one, there are soooo many fun things to do and its such a chill city. We are Americans and know very little of the Dutch language, but the city is English friendly for the most part. We loved it so much, that we extended our trip here. Below I included, some photos of the city. (In a separate post I will list the things that we did) Genieten!
