Fish Tacos for Taco Tuesday

Charlies1

Am I the only one that orders fish tacos for Taco Tuesdays? It is so much more satisfying than the other tacos, according to my taste buds.

I had lunch at Charlies Bar & Kitchen for a business meeting and I decided to go for the fish tacos on the menu and boyyy was it good! I mean it was good, good.

Take a look at the menu here and follow their Instagram page to see what their up to these days.

And so that leads me to ask you, where are you going for tacos on Tueday’s? What is your favorite type of taco?

From the Bronx to Harvard University – Netflix Show; Taking Up Space

taking up space

Taking up space is a Netflix show that sheds light on the lives of African Americans that push through wherever they go despite of the lack of diversity

This show opens up the conversation of the lack of diversity within prestigious institutions in America. Just like many other issues, this is something that is kept under the rug which is why I find this show to be interesting. It opens up a conversation that introduces fear into a room and that make people feel uncomfortable. It is time to push through this all and go there. We must!

In this show, Robert Rush walks us through his journey as a Harvard Student on campus and the things that he faces as an African American student. “I wanted to be part of the school that I went to because I knew that it meant so much. Me going to Harvard from where I come from is abnormal” shares Robert; where he explains building a genuine relationship with his school regardless of who he is and what he faces.

Robert helps us understand that the hunger for change is growing more and more. As an advocate, Rush is on a mission to shift some things around and I am so here for it! Lets join forces and get this work done.

My favorite sushi restaurant

Did someone say sushi? I love sushi. My love for sushi was developed during my college years. I remember thinking that my friend was out of her mind when she had sushi for lunch at work. The idea of eating something that is not cooked, freaked me out. Until.. I tried a California roll and fell in love. After adapting to the cali roll taste, I then moved unto trying other rolls such as shrimp tempura, avocado rolls and even an unagi roll.

So when I was in college there was an Asian restaurant close to my campus; where I visited regularly for sushi. Things changed once I moved back home from school and went into a sushi hunt. It was important for me to find a place that was just as good as the last place that I was accustomed to.

I found that place!!!! Ceetay is a sushi restaurant that is located in the South Bronx, within the Mott Haven area. It is right in my borough, the food is amazing, service is great and they offer delivery services. Greatness on top of greatness!

Please be sure to check out their website for a full view of their menu and more information.

Are you a sushi lover? If so, what is your favorite type of sushi? Please share! I will like to hear more from you guys.
